Bhupinder Hooda mocks Khattar's "Jan Samvad" programme, saying they only remember villages around polls

Chandigarh: On Monday, senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda criticised Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's (Khattar's) "Jan Samvad" interaction programme with villagers, saying that Khattar's government had been "sleeping" for the past nine years and was only thinking about the villagers now because elections were coming up.

Khattar kicked off his three-day "Jan Samvad" programme on Sunday, during which he will visit multiple villages in the Bhiwani district, speak with locals, and listen to their concerns.

When queried by reporters about the initiative, the former chief minister here said, "For nine years, the government continued sleeping and was remembering the villages when elections were close)."—Inputs from Agencies
